Environmental Studies Center at Oberlin College, Ohio is an example of ecological design. It makes oxygen, sequesters carbon, fixes nitrogen, distills water, accrues solar energy as fuel, creates micro-climates, changes with the seasons and its sewage is treated by a living machine designed.
