Tensegrity Dome in Tokyo

A team of professors and students at the University of Tokyo Digital Fabrication Lab has built a beautiful tensegrity dome using inflated steel “pillows” (providing compression) suspended between pre-stressed steel wires (providing tension), enabling the entire structure to fold flat when taken out of installation.
