Carbondale restoration under way

Blair Wolfram’s Dome Inc. recently held the groundbreaking for their restoration of Buckminster Fuller’s Dome Home in Carbondale, IL, on April 19th. As the only geodesic dome he actually resided in, the Dome Home served as Bucky’s home base during his residency at Southern Illinois University. After his death, it was used as student housing until it was donated in 2001 to the RBF Dome Home NFP, a non-profit dedicated to restoring it.

With the restoration now under way, we are looking forward to its new reincarnation as a museum!
