A LOOK BACK AT THE 2015 FULLER CHALLENGE

The 2015 Fuller Challenge cycle concluded in November with a Conferring Ceremony at the Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn, New York, organized in partnership with the Cooper Union Institute for Sustainable Design. Click for a recap of the successful event, during which the endeavors of the 2015 Finalists and Winners were celebrated by hundreds of members of our community. Representatives from the the Finalist teams joined BFI from Alabama, California, France, India, and Indonesia.

In 2015, the Fuller Challenge received 411 proposals. Entries represented work being done in 136 countries, and constituted a 50% increase in the geographic diversity of applicants to the Challenge. Of over 400 entries, the top 10% were invited to receive benefits from BFI’s Catalyst Program. This year, 15 Semi-finalists and 5 Finalists were chosen by the Review Committee and with the help of BFI’s network of Advisors. In October, GreenWave was announced as the winner of the 2015 Fuller Challenge and recipient of the $100,000 grand prize. GreenWave subsequently received significant press coverage.
