Geodisic Dome Windmill?

Submitted by Reflexion on Thu, 2007-04-26 15:29.

Some years ago, someone teached me some things about Bucky (synergetics, geodesic dome, spaceship earth, etc.). But one of them capted my attention.

He told me that it was possible to build a windmill inside a geodesic dome and that some people experienced it and got winds of 100 kph inside the dome.

I am looking for explanations and pictures of this concept, but the most valuable info I found was this one: http://www.buckminster.info/Ideas/10-EndEnergyWindmillDome.htm

and this one, explaning the common problems of recent(1970's) wind turbine:

My question is: Do researches have been made on this idea? and if yes, where is it located, do anyone have pictures of it?

thank you

With today's technology you could build superb energy-producing shelters with:

1) monolithic cement dome substructures,

2) geodesic photovoltaic (PV) glass dome greenhouses, and

3) a large wind tubine high above each dome, using the turbines' towers to re-enforce each structure and provide many other functions,

4) optional farming of biofuels such as canola oil or hemp with (or without) cellulosic ethanol.
