Bridge to Somewhere
Thanks to Google's archiving of original newsprint as scanned imagery, I was able to locate this 1987 article clearly contemplating the Bering Strait linkup, interested parties on both sides. A group of debaters took up this same issue in Georgetown in 2008-2009. Lots of great links to GENI web site and elsewhere, worth reading! So why didn't this issue come up amidst all the inarticulate "bridge to nowhere" debates? Are the media incapable of tracking this story? Massive loss of IQ? Note to those reading Critical Path: remember this was number one high priority. What groups besides GENI might step up to the plate? GENI is doing a wonderful job, but should have more friends. Where's the beef? I'm in contact with FCNL, AFSC etc. (Quaker groups), spreading the word. We have a Fuller Projection in our meetinghouse classroom.
