Critical Path, page 223, says World Game demonstrates that 60% of jobs don't produce real wealth.
Can someone tell me how that was demonstrated, what data were used, and whether any more recent estimates of unproductive jobs have been made?

Hi Kimbark
I've been a student of Bucky for many years since and the question of 'unproductive jobs' and realizing the abundance that our planet has available to us is a challenge because we are still operating within a 'scarcity' context or what we think is real.
Any form of auditing job is unproductive in terms of creating more life support for everyone, it is simply a job that earns money and that's not wealth as Bucky so wonderfully defined.
A good example for me personally is that I used to be a construction engineer and supervise sewerage and water supply works for townships. There were very good contractors that required almost zero supervision (auditing or checking) and other contractors who needed very close supervision and even then the quality of their work was inferior.
The time people are required to spend on auditing is non-productive, and therefore is not being used productively to bring forth the abundant future Bucky shares about and developed his 'Critical Path' for.
Once we take responsibility (to cause the future we know is possible) and we start to work together to create that future (and are not focused on 'simply making money') we will create a healthy, abundant and sustainable way of life very very quickly.
Hope that clarified the issue a bit and re-reading Critical Path and GRUNCH will also give you a new reality.
