In conjunction with our year-end fundraiser, the Buckminster Fuller Institute would like to offer any donor giving more than $10 a copy of our newsprint poster and brochure, featuring Fuller's rarely seen 1928 drawing of the 4D Tower. Please accept this small token of our appreciation for your support! “Time and relativity are essential components of construction design and harmonious composition.” —4D Time Lock, 1929, page 54. The image on the left is a reproduction of one of Buckminster Fuller’s earliest plans to revolutionize the housing industry. The drawing makes visible Fuller’s profound understanding of the synergistic relationship between the physical and the metaphysical, underpinning the fundamental structures of Universe. Fuller’s comprehensive anticipatory design science optimizes resource use in the first three spatial dimensions, as well as the fourth, time. This is a rare view of Fuller’s creative thinking, as he worked through the futuristic delivery service, the resource efficient design, and as he illustrates here, the progression of light in the 12 story tower. |
