In the '60's, while studying Design and attending Dr. Fuller's classes and lectures; his ideas made great sense - to the extent I could 'keep up' with his brilliance. Today, having worked at a major Aerospace company and spoken with an ISS astronaut about our Spaceship Earth, the Manual is still perfectly relevant. Are there gatherings where I can share my experiences and views with like souls? Are copied of his recorded lectures available today? FLOATING BREAKWATER (1979) - U.S. PATENT - 4,136,994Submitted by Michael Russo on Wed, 2008-07-16 15:19.
Not knowing exactly what "Design Science" is, I contend Bucky's Floating Breakwater - U.S. PATENT - 4,136,994 - has more potential NOW than it did in 1977. Is anyone prepared to produced one of these things? We have a location on Narragansett Bay in Providence, RI, that could definitely benefit from the installation of this technology. In 'NEXUS Network Journal' you will find an article of mine regarding 'The About this book | posted in: | help Architecture and problem-solvingSubmitted by Norman Fellows on Fri, 2008-03-14 16:52.
Where I have a different point of view from Bucky is that the whole use of the word "problem" is too confining to me as a designer. I do not consider that architecture should be involved with problem-solving at all. What it should be involved with is conditions of social betterment that hitherto were thought impossible. Problem-solving - if you can define a problem then you probably think there's some solution involved. So I find problem-solving far too limiting a concept and tend not to agree with Bucky. | posted in: | help World's first geodesic dome ?Submitted by Linton on Fri, 2007-11-30 03:02.
See www.physics.princeton.edu/ trothman/domes.html The article refers to the Zeiss Optical Company building a geodesic dome after WW1, included is a German patent dated 1922. Does any body know the details of this ? Did Bucky invent the geodesic dome ?
models of 2nd and 3rd powersSubmitted by universe on Wed, 2007-10-24 16:33.
I am trying to model 2nd and 3rd powers of numbers from 1 to 10. Can someone explain what the models look like? Thank you. Mortgage Credit SituationSubmitted by jon_van_meter on Thu, 2007-08-16 14:31.
In light of the recent media coverage of the home mortgage credit situation, I am wondering as the stock market reacts by selling off mortgages. Are the FINCAP and LAWCAP financial illusionists working their shell game again? Are these mortgages being picked up for pennies on the dollar? Are low/median income earners being blamed for the greed of those companies, that bet on the pyramid scheme of a (falsely sustained) booming housing market? When will we demand fair lending laws and corporate accountability?

With your investment in each Rothschild Edition automobile you'll also own a renewable energy (RE) system to power your car and home. i am in fuller's shadow.. essay enclosed from a book i'm writing. . . for the most part, sadly. . this pull is key in sustaining ecology, as well as the critical path. this pull is a part of what is called "precession. . " which is to say, decay serves a purpose, especially in countries with an infrastructure. . . . i have used the word ecology loosely in this book, for an almost anthropological purpose, to include humans with regards to the very things that ecology negates: materialism. . anyways, the excerpt is mostly for comedy . . a bit overly social . . but it addresses things in different ways. . . the title hasn't been "made up" yet. . this particular essay is in the form of poetry, it was put into a language translator thru various languages, and spit out, in incomprehensible spurts . . If the nature of babies is crude, and the American culture does not like this, それは高い中学校の二次1つのの、流出の未成年者の反映された1の1の暴動買収する, so our knowledge is waylaid in favor of sports, as Gilles delueze had shown, was drawn for pipe of feeding, so that we say, we cannot break exempted from the familial structure since we see him. [I will explain] in ourselves, 1. preposition dans; whatever it is. 2. adverb (at home, in the building etc) là; (arrived: train) arrivé; (in its position) dedans; in here ici; when the diskette is in quand la disquette est à l’intérieur 3. adjective (fashionable, popular) à la mode however [perifronoyme] those that cannot break exempted from the familial structure, as mentally the sick, in reality, because homelessnesses are as sports, and the poor concern in this the nation are waylaid in favour of the logic of babies [pacifier], are cuz we cannot see in us that [dipote] other than what is familial than within the family. This is what I was about to explain: What was orally spoken, the oral tradition as authority, was given to media, was given to sports, with films, often in the narrative form which had been abandoned in books. | posted in: | help Wanted: Awakened Indigo Children for creating Dome Village KatrinaSubmitted by KarinLLightworker on Wed, 2007-06-13 19:33.

fluorescent v. incandescent v. LEDSubmitted by George DeCarlo on Wed, 2007-03-14 00:54.
Dear BFI, I had the opportunity recently to change a proposal being put forward to the Green Party of New Jersey that would have had fluorescent bulbs. These types of bulbs while being energy saving in comparison to incandescent are not the solution. This is another case of seemingly doing good when superior developments are on the way. Please see my suggestion to look into LED lights below. I do not think Bucky would have been satisfied with fluorescent at this point. Thank you, -- VOTE Green Party! | posted in: | help |
